WHERE: Peru
WHAT: We aim to help them serve their country as best as we can. Some of the trip activities include hosting a surf competition, surfing Chicama (the longest left in the world), visiting a local orphanage, beach cleanups, and beach outreaches.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS TRIP IS TO: Partner with the CS Lima chapter and travel to the northern part of Peru. These trips are always heavy on the relationships. We always have good devos, meet awesome people, and generally share the stoke.
SURFING: Bring a wetsuit; water temp is normally mid to low 60s. I typically bring a 3/2. There are places to rent a wetsuit if needed. Booties may also be a good idea. No reef breaks, but there are a lot of rocks, sea urchins, and stingrays. Waves vary, but are a consistent chest high and rolling. They are easy to catch and ride. The majority of the waves are lefts, with few rights here and there.
HOW DO I GET THERE? Fly into Lima, and we will provide transportation from there.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING? Passport (valid for at least 6 months), snacks or money for snacks and souvenirs, bring or rent a surfboard.
FOOD: Peruvian Food is some of the best in the world. Seafood-heavy, but plenty of other options. Can be difficult to find gluten-free options at restaurants, so planning ahead is necessary.
